For substrates that contain water-soluble or discoloring substances, we recommend using our combined UNITEX® COTTONLUX bonding and sealing primer . This primer serves as a bonding primer when the substrate needs to be stabilized. If applied twice, it also has a sealing effect. Thanks to the quartz sand it contains, it also ensures optimal adhesion when applying UNITEX® COTTONLUX with the smoothing trowel.

When coating old plasterboard with UNITEX® COTTONLUX, tannins may occasionally bleed through despite the use of the bonding and sealing primer. To prevent this, it is recommended to treat the surfaces with a deep primer beforehand. It is important to strictly adhere to the drying times of the UNITEX® COTTONLUX bonding and sealing primer .

If there are any uncertainties regarding the condition of the substrate, it is advisable to create a small test area in order to detect discoloring substances in good time.
